The Commander overviews the entire army.
The Sub-Commander overviews a single garrison.
The Captain is the highest field-rank, and commands all others.
The Veteran is a highly-experienced soldier, and is eligible to receive knighthood from an Earl
The Footman fills up the bulk of the army.
The Man-At-Arms are trained recruits, who fight alongside soldiers, but are not yet experienced.
The Recruit is someone who has yet to be trained. People are often recruited, and trained into the Man-At-Arms within the same day.


(Nobility)

Squire > Knight > Baron > Duke > Prince > Viscount > Earl > High-Viscount > King


The King is in complete control.
The High-Viscount is a military adviser directly to the King. Has the rank of Commander.
The Earl has control of a single city.
The Viscount has the rank of Commander, and is a military adviser to the Earl.
The Prince is heir to the King, and has the rank of Sub-Commander.
The Duke is heir to the Earl, and has the rank of Captain.
The Baron is a land owner, or owns multiple buildings.
The Knight is a Veteran Soldier, and has been granted Knighthood by the state.
The Squire is an assistant to a Knight.
