Rituals & You

Rituals are a long, tedious process which can take anywhere from a couple of minutes, to a couple of days. Rituals have the benefit of not requiring a magical connection, though they may require intensive knowledge on a subject in order to be utilized properly. Although it is possible to fail a ritual, there is no negative effect to having failed a ritual, however a failed ritual must be started from the beginning in order for another attempt to be made. Any consumed materials used in a failed ritual are lost in the process, and cannot be recovered.
Rituals are put into three different categories, based on their complexity. Common, Uncommon, and Rare.

- Ritual of Diminished Magics:
This ritual takes an hour to perform.
First, the ritual begins by using an arcane chalk to draw a circle. The size of the circle must atleast have a diameter of a meter, and cannot be larger than 20 meters.
Second, the person performing the ritual must draw in atleast a single magical symbol from any school. A symbol has a radius of a half meter, and cannot directly touch another symbol. As many symbols can be put in, that fits in the arcane circle.
Third, the person performing the ritual must empower it by using the soul of a medium sized creature, such as a human or a wolf. The sacrifice must be performed on the arcane circle.
After these steps are ensured, any schools of magic defined by the symbol have a -20 modifier to being casted within the ritual's effect. The ritual's effective range is equal to the arcane's circle, multipled by 10.
This ritual lasts for atleast 1 month. (One week OOCly), or until the arcane circle has been broken.
