Special Materials
This is a list of materials with either abnormal, or special properties.
Just to mention, all metals have been given a, "Breaks after X hits". This assumes that the object in question took a direct hit, and is hit again immediately after. Obviously, hitting an object in one location, then hitting it again in a completely different location, would not contribute to the whole list, rather, the individual location hit would have to be struck multiple times with full force, before it breaks.
The term break is not an absolute. A broken weapon may be represented by a large crack in the weapon, and further damage to the object may cause it to break in half. These are only a guideline, and an object that may be defined as being broken in 5 hits, may be able to last 10 hits before fully breaking. Please use your common sense in this matter.
Certain metals have special benefits attached to them. If this benefit requires a "full set" of armor, this simply means torso armor, (arms not included), and leggings. Gloves, boots, and helmets, are not required to gain the special benefit attached to them. A user can only have a single benefit from a material at a time. (Armor made out two seperate materials, can only gain the benefit of the more rare material, based on price p/ingot.

- Common:
Common metals are something that each player is able to start off with, (to some degree) without needing to speak to an administrator.- Copper:
This material is extremely cheap, and generally speaking isn't used often for armor, mainly for making copper coins. However, armor can be made out of this material, though it offers minimal protection, often being broken after a hit or two.
An ingot usually costs 10 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 200 coins.
- Bronze:
Bronze is a mixture of copper along with other common materials that usually cannot be used by themselves, or even a mixture between copper and iron. This acts as a stepping stone between peasants, and those who are starting on their path to becoming a mercenary or otherwise a soldier. It offers a small amount of protection, often breaking after 3-5 hits.
An ingot usually costs around 20 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 400 coins.
- Iron:
Iron is an extremely common metal, most individuals usually use this armor due to their reliance. Iron is considered strong and durable, and often used in making tools or weapons. It is often used in the construction of standard armor used by most military forces. It offers a decent amount of protection, often breaking after 10-15 hits.
An ingot usually costs around 40 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 800 coins.
- Uncommon:
Uncommon metals are something that people don't usually have access to. Using equipment made from this category must be obtained ICly, or through an admin's approval.- Steel:
Although Steel is not all that uncommon, as most mercenaries and soldiers usually utilize this to defend themselves, it is relatively more expensive to produce and maintain. It is often used by higher-ranking individuals within a militia, and offers a good amount of protection, often breaking after 15-30 hits.
An ingot usually costs around 60 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 1200 coins.
- Damascus Steel:
Damascus Steel is a more refined variant of steel. It uses a couple of other minerals in its construction to offer a stronger and more durable metal than Steel, however, the difference is not too much, aside from vanity. This type of steel has a much stronger lust, and often is engraved with symbols or designs to make it appear more fancy. It has a good amount of protection, and often breaks after 20-30 hits.
An ingot usually costs around 80 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 1600 coins.
- Bonemeld:
Bonemeld ingots are made out of normal bones, and mixed with other common materials. It is considered an unholy material, and as such, can cause minor corruption to hitting a target, or the wielder themselves. This type of material is considered strong and durable, and can even be mended with healing magic. When damaged, these materials tend to have blood pour out from the damaged aspects. This is demonic blood, and can cause burns to a holy figure.
An ingot usually costs around 150 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 3000 coins.
- Silver:
Silver is a metal which is believed to have been blessed by Itas when the world was created. Silver is about as strong as Iron, but has the added benefit of being considered a "Holy" object. When an unholy creature is attacked by a silver weapon, it causes their flesh to burn, and prevents them from being able to heal it with magic. (Although physical medicine can be used to help them.) Silver also reduces the effects of chaos magic, offering good resistance to it though not immunity. This armor offers moderate protection, and often breaks after 10-15 hits.
An ingot costs 80 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 1600 coins.
- Gold:
Gold is a very pretty and shiney material, and doesn't offer a lot of protection. However, it is not very common, and very expensive. It offers very little protection, often breaking in 5-10 hits. However, wearing a full set of golden armor will cause a user to appear considerably more attractive, and as such, will give them a +10 passive modifier to any charisma roll. (Resonance magic uses Charisma.)
An ingot costs 100 coins.
A full set of armor would cost 2000 coins.
- Platinum:
Platinum is a holy metal similar to that of Silver, and as such, is considered a "holy" weapon which can cause an unholy creature's flesh to burn, and prevent it from being healed by magical means. It also has the added benefit of causing all attacks to be considered critical damage against unholy creatures, and it is impossible for unholy weapons or chaos magic to pierce it. This means that a full set of platinum armor is immune to the effects of Chaos magic. It offers good protection, breaking after 30-50 hits.
An ingot costs 135 coins.
A full set of armor costs 2770 coins.
- Demonic:
Demonic Ingots is a mixture of bones from the demons, and other common materials. It is considered unholy, and as such, can cause a holy creature's flesh to burn, and prevent it from being healed by magical means. It has the added benefit of causing all holy creatures to bleed much more intensely, (between double and triple the rate of normal bleeding.) It has a resistance to holy magic, but is not immune to it. It offers very good protection, breaking after 50-80 hits. While wearing a full set, the user also gets a +10 modifier to chaos magic.
An ingot costs 250 coins.
A full set of armor costs 5000 coins.
- Rare:
- Tungsten:
This metal is capable of absorbing magic entirely, preventing magic from passing from one side to the other. This metal takes an extremely long time to refine, and as such, it is extremely difficult for an individual to get armor made out of Tungsten. When an individual does manage to get an entire set of armor made out of tungsten, they are unable to run, as the weight of the material prevents them from moving quickly. It offers extremely good protection, often breaking after 50-150 hits.
An ingot costs 350 coins.
A full set of armor costs 7000 coins.
- Mithril:
This metal is extremely light, and is capable of enhancing one's magical abilities. This metal takes an extremely long time to refine, and as such, it is extremely difficult for an individual to get armor made out of this. However, upon wearing a full set of this armor, the user is able to utilize holy magic much more potent, granting a +10 modifier to casting holy magic, and a +5 modifier to casting any other forms of magic that isn't chaos magic. It is very light weight, and although strong, it only offers decent protection, often breaking between 20-30 hits.
An ingot costs 400 coins.
A full set of armor costs 8000 coins.
